VP Product
A confidential retained search for a VP of Product with a high-growth Australian fintech. The business is scaling, moving from sales-led to product-led, and expanding its executive leadership team. You will report to the co-founder, join the ELT, and own product strategy and the data function.
Why this role exists
Product decisions still route through the founder, which constrains execution speed as the business scales. You will build early trust and take the reins on product strategy and roadmap, setting the direction of the platform rather than responding to feature requests.
Product also owns data, currently a capability rather than a discipline, so building a data function into a working discipline is part of the mandate. The platform is built AI native.
What you will own
- The product vision and roadmap, and the commercial performance of the product.
- The product operating model, and the removal of day-to-day product decisions from the founders.
- The data function, built from a nascent state into a working discipline, with the product instrumented so decisions are evidenced.
- Discovery with customers and partners, and a contribution to company strategy as a member of the ELT.
What you will bring
- Senior product leadership, at VP or Head of level or equivalent, in a high-growth software or fintech business.
- A track record building the product function and operating model, not just running an existing one.
- Comfort owning data as a discipline and running an executive metric set.
- The credibility to take the reins from a founder and set product direction.
- AI-native product experience and a build mindset, hands-on and in the detail.
