054: Andy Taylor – Douugh.
Dexter Cousins is joined by Andy Taylor, CEO of Douugh, a Super App doing things very differently.
Douugh recently listed on the ASX and has seen 10x growth in the share price since listing. It’s a bold vision with launch in the US first through partnerships with existing banks and Mastercard.
A software business that helps consumers save and create wealth is a more accurate description for Douugh. They are taking a very different approach to neo banking by redefining financial products and operating model.
Dexter chats to Andy about the vision, why he decided to list and why Douugh is going US first.

What happened next.
The US-first strategy ran into the 2022 capital squeeze. Andy describes the market turning over the course of two weeks, from growth at all costs to cut costs at all costs, and says he probably still has nightmares about it. Douugh cut back to Australia, then lost several of the vendors its model depended on.
The business pivoted from a consumer app to an embedded fraud and identity platform licensed to companies including Chime, Robinhood and T-Mobile. It acquired Radical DBX in December 2024, renamed itself Stakk, and agreed in 2026 to acquire ParaScript for US$63 million.
Andy returned to Fintech Chatter in July 2026 to explain the pivot. Listen to Andy Taylor on the ten year overnight success.
